Blake's Speech at the Golden Gate Candidates Forum:
Good evening ladies and gentleman. Again, my name is Blake Adams and I’m running for Collier County Judge. I was recently voted by my peers as one of Collier County’s top lawyers in criminal defense which will be published in the September issue of the Naples Illustrated magazine, so limiting a trial attorney like myself to only two minutes to talk to all of you is really a cruel and unusual punishment.
For over a year, I’ve been crisscrossing Collier County talking to voters about my qualifications to become your next County Judge. Those qualifications include my personal integrity, community commitment, and genuine experience. Now, there’s not enough time here to go into each one of those qualifications, but if you haven’t already, please stop by my table and pick up one of these brochures that go into great detail.
What I will tell you first and foremost, is that as judge, I will uphold the constitutions and laws of the United States and Florida. I will follow the Florida Rules of Procedure and Evidence. I will apply the applicable statutes to the facts of each and every individual case that comes before me. And, I will treat each person who appears in my courtroom, regardless of whether or not they are represented by an attorney, with fairness, dignity, respect, and impartiality. Please join elected officials like Naples Mayor Bill Barnett, Public Defender of the 20th Judicial Circuit Kathy Smith, and State Attorney of the 20th Judicial Circuit Steve Russell, who’ve all endorsed my candidacy, and vote for Blake Adams for Collier County Judge on August 28th.
